Alvia Yvette Mayfield was born on April 22, 1967, to the union of Jessie Lee Mayfield and Doris Marie Cotton in Chicago, Illinois. Alvia accepted Christ at an early age and took her walk with the Lord as a personal thing. She attended Dvorak Elementary School and Westinghouse High School. Alvia was a very loving and caring person; she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved to cook and try new dishes as well as to clean and decorate. Alvia was the light of the party; she loved being around friends and family and striking up a good game of cards. When she wasn’t doing that, you would find her babysitting and caring for all the little babies. She had a heart of gold. Alvia departed this life on August 13, 2021. She was preceeded in death by both her parents. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Aaron Harris, Areana Harris, Anthony Lang, Andre (Gabrielle) Lang, and Antoine Lang; her grandchildren, Michaela, Porsche, Brooklyn, London, India, Nathaniel, Nyari, Josiah, Aaliyah, Keih’naia, Ke’embri, Ki’John, Anthony Jr., I’zaire, Amari, and Armani; two brothers, Kenneth Mayfield, and Shonnon Cotton; fiance, Louis Deamon, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
