March 25, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Moses Benson, Sr., and Lydia Mae Benson. Anthony attended Austin High School, where he was an active student, playing basketball and performing in the band as a talented trumpet player. Anthony graduated from high school in 1969, with honors, and continued his education at U of I in Champaign, Illinois, where he graduated with honors earning a Bachelor Degree in Communications. On November 10, 1984, Anthony married the Love of his life, Ms. Brenda Dearing, and from that union, three children were born - Jamar, Terrence, and Shanna. During his lifetime, Anthony held positions as a Loving Father, an exceptional and Loving Husband, and an asset to his employer, until he retired. Anthony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nelson and Reecie Benson, and Ellis Weathersby and Loueller Isaac; parents, Moses, Sr., and Lydia M. Benson; brothers, Moses Benson, Jr., and Ossie B. Benson; mother-in-law, Georgia Buford; father-in-law, Wilbert Buford; and sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Buford, Richshena Buford, and Debra Buford. Anthony leaves us with cherished memories: His devoted wife, Brenda Benson; children, Jamar [Kesha], Terrence, Shanna, and La’Kisha White [Antonio]; siblings, Curtis, Betty Wright [Warren], Reverend Gloria Coleman [Earnest] and John [Vanessa]; cousins, Amelia and Grady Huff; and a host of many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
