Brian Felker Obituary

Brian Keith Felker was born on June 9, 1962, to Emma Felker
in the heart of Chicago, Illinois, and he made sure the world knew
it. From the very beginning, Brian had a big personality, a sharp
wit, and zero interest in sugarcoating anything. He told it like
it was, made people laugh whether they were ready or not, and
somehow always managed to be the smartest person in the room
(just ask him).
Brian was a natural provider. For many years he worked as a tool
and dye polisher. Waking up early every morning to earn a living
for his family.
Brian was a man of many loves: spades (don’t even think about
reneging), chess (he hated losing), PlayStation (where he reigned
supreme), heavy metal rock (the louder, the better), karate movies
(Bruce Lee all day), and the iconic, wonderfully ridiculous Beavis
and Butt-Head. If there was a couch, a snack, and something funny
or action-packed on TV, he was set.
But more than anything, Brian loved his people. He was a proud
and loving father to Rachel Clark and a proud father-in-law to
D’Atkins Clark. His grandchildren, D’Atkins Clark, Jr., and Riley
Belle Clark, were the apple of his eye.
Brian was also a father figure to four amazing bonus daughters:
Lakesha Jackson, Franceena Love, Kennyetta Walker, and Keshawn
Stanton. He rooted for them, celebrated them, and claimed them
like his own—even if he gave them a hard time now and then (that
was love, Brian-style). He also gained a crew of bonus grandkids,
who added more joy and noise to his life.
Brian found peace and faith later in life. In 2015, he was baptized at
New Evangelical Bible Church in Chicago. He found joy in sending
encouraging messages to loved ones (He might’ve followed it up
with a meme or sarcastic joke. Balance).
Through every season of his life, Brian remained close to Quintetta
Walker, the mother of his child and former wife. Their bond
endured the tests of time, and she remained by his side—offering
care, love, and support until his final day. Their relationship was
one of deep respect and shared commitment to their family.
Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Felker, and
brother, Darrell Felker. He leaves behind his siblings: Brigette
Leonard, Victoria Felker, Cheri Felker, Kimberly Felker, and
Kenneth Felker, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended
family, and friends who are still trying to figure out how to live in
a world without his laugh, his sarcasm, and his unbeatable spades
game.
Brian lived a life full of love, loud music, good games, belly laughs,
and real talk. He never met a moment he couldn’t turn into a story,
or a game he didn’t think he could win. He was one of a kind, and
the world is a little less cool without him in it. Rest easy, Brian. We’ll
miss you—and yes, we’ll make sure the PlayStation is updated.
