Bryan James Butler

Bryan James Butler, 30, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed into eternity on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. He was born on October 2, 1991, in Chicago, Illinois, at the University Obituary Precious Memories of Illinois Hospital. Bryan attended Kennedy Charter Public School where he graduated in 2010. He played football, basketball, and also ran track in middle school in 2005. He recently worked at Amazon in the fulfillment center. Bryan absolutely loved his family and often dreamed of beginning one of his own. He was a continuous learner that loved to read, research, and experiment. He was a planner, very observant, and always knew what he wanted and how he wanted things to go. His dream was to start his own business, which he did. Bryan also took pride in his appearance but most importantly he was a problem-solver and very solution-focused. He was compassionate, loving, thoughtful, protective, and most importantly he was a sweetheart. He was a charmer and did anything to make others happy. Bryan was preceded in death by grandfathers, Johnny Morrison and Albert Johnson, and brother, Jamar Hicks. Bryan is survived by: his parents, mother Ontrella Hicks and stepdad Raylen Hicks, both of Charlotte, North Carolina, father Dewan Johnson and stepmom, Raquel Johnson, both of Chicago, Illinois; his girlfriend, Chabré Phillips of Charlotte, North Carolina; brothers, Julius Hicks and Terrvante Hicks; sisters, Danielle Coleman, Capryes Hicks, Alya Hicks, all of Charlotte, North Carolina, and La’Tiana Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; grandmothers, Jean Morrison Reed and Forestine Johnson, both of Chicago, Illinois; aunties, Sharneè Morrison, Dewanda Johnson, and Albria Johnson; great-grandmother, Mattie Wright; and best friends, Jalisa McKoy and Quantavious Little, both of Charlotte North Carolina; as well as a host of aunties, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that loved him very much.
