Calburdia was born on September 17, 1940, in Michigan City, Mississippi, to the late Albert and Lucy Tipler. She passed away on December 27, 2021, at her home in Chicago, Illinois, with her family by her side. She graduated from Old Salem High School in Ashland, MS. After graduating, she moved to Chicago, IL. Later, she married Alvernzo Crawford, and they were together for 55 years. Her interests included family, traveling, ironing, cooking, and reading. She retired from Mullins Food Company and spent most of her time watching sports and cooking for her family. She would feed anyone who she thought wanted a meal. Cooking was her passion. Calburdia was preceded in death by: her sister, Frances Crawford, two brothers, Landy (Buster) Tipler and William (Brother) Tipler, and one grandson, Gerald W. Collyman III. She is survived by: one sister, Gracie (Henry) Reaves; one brother, James (Alberta) Tipler; her husband, Alvernzo Crawford; five children, Larry (Bobbie) Crawford, Floy Collymore, Cathey Crawford, Fonteria (Retangia) Crawford, and Kirby Crawford; grandchildren, LaDerius, Chrystal, Chaquille, Josh, Binky, Kevelyn, and Kiara; 10 great-grands, Shamarion, Camara, Kentrell, Kendrick, Kembrea, Lakendra, Isiah, Jaylyn, Josh, and Kaycee.
