Carl Lee Webster was born on November 28, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois. Carl spent his life inspiring those around him with his optimism, hands-on spirit, and unwavering encouragement. He was a natural leader, and a man of many talents. He had a gift for seeing the potential in people and things—always ready with a kind word, helpful advice, or a toolbox in hand. Carl was born to parents Manuel and Dorothy Webster, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up on the West Side of Chicago with his younger brother, Ronnie Webster. Carl attended college for three years at Aurora University, but his most impactful lessons came through life, family, faith, and experience. Carl was known for his memorable sayings (“Keep your head on a swivel,” “If you stay ready, you don’t have get ready.”) and encouraging attitude. This perspective was reflected in his work and in his teaching both in Ministry and in his career. He was a beloved Driver and Orientational Specialist for Superior Ambulance where he worked for nearly 30 years. Carl became a Minister in 1993, preaching his first sermon at Lively Stone M.B. Church on Paul and Silas—a message that marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for sharing God’s Word. A voracious reader and dedicated student of the Bible, Carl loved powerful preaching and never missed an opportunity to grow spiritually or encourage others to do the same. Carl loved a challenge and if you presented him with a problem, he was there to help until the problem was solved. He was the family’s mechanic, plumber, electrician, and HVAC technician. He possessed any tool or gadget needed to resolve your problem, and if he didn’t have it, it would certainly arrive via Amazon the next day. Carl had a sharp eye for style and loved shopping for suits. He also took great pride in keeping a clean car—rarely seen without a glove, towel, and car shine in hand. Whether dressed to the nines or detailing his vehicle, Carl carried himself with pride, purpose, and presence. Carl Webster, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, motivator, Minister, and lifelong fixer-upper, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the age of 68. Carl greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Webster. His children, Yolanda Webster, Charles Webster (La’Kendreia), Quenisha Webster who preceded him in death, Eboni Martin (Spencer), Raphael Martin (LaToya), Isaiah “Daquan” Webster, and his brother, Ronnie Webster. He was a loving grandfather to all 14 of his grandchildren: Perriyana, Perriy’ea, Sy’naya, Olivia, Porsch’ay, Madison, Isaiah, Amiyah, Taniece, Austin, Jefferson, Skylar, Yvella, Josephine. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and all those whose lives were touched by his wisdom and care. Carl Lee Webster will always be remembered for his strength, integrity, undying faith, and unmatched love for his family.
