Carlos Crawford, also known as “Big C” or the “Big Boy from Bellwood,” was born to Doris and McKinley Crawford. Carlos was born a child of God, a true fighter, and a blessing to be around. Carlos attended McKinley Elementary and Crane High School. After high school he married his high school sweetheart, Harriet and then got drafted into the Army. He had several jobs over the years, ranging from CHA worker to cable TV installer, touching lives wherever he went. Carlos loved music, food (especially sweets), family, friends, and especially God. He was a friend, uncle, and surrogate father to many. His humor, kindness, warmth, and generosity will be surely missed. On July 7, 2022, he was called home to reunite with his wife, Harriet Crawford; parents, Doris and McKinley Crawford; his sister, Pamela Johnson; and brother, Ricardo Crawford. Carlos leaves behind to cherish his memories: his son, Eric; daughter-in-law, Tanzie; grandchildren, Trae, Kobe, and Jalen; great-grandchildren, Trinity and Taylor; two brothers, Carl and Alvin; three sisters, Joya, Janine, and Stacy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
