Carlos Etienne Luster was born May 15, 1968,
to Stanley G. and L. Mary Luster. Being the third of four children,
Carlos had to make his presence known amongst his siblings, Jose
and Malinda. His brother, Stanley Jr., departed the family at a
young age. In tribute to our son, we want the world to know that
your family and friends have great memories of you, love you with
all our hearts and are saddened but grateful for the memories of
our times together.
To share with everyone, Carlos was an inquisitive, creative
young man from the beginning. He experienced the joys of
camping, fishing, baseball, and cooking, to say the least. Another
developmental talent, which he picked up from his grandfather,
was learning to work on things, thus becoming a handyman under
his guidance. This dubbed him the title “Fix All,” fixing, painting,
and troubleshooting repair items and projects, whatever was either
broken or in need of attention. This talent was thoroughly utilized
at Original Providence Baptist Church, among other duties such
as security, lawn, and property maintenance.
Carlos met, captured the heart of, and married the love of his life,
Angela Nutmall, in 2014. They enjoyed eight memorable years
together.
Carlos lived his life as he chose to enjoy it. He was a husband, son,
sibling, grandson uncle, and friend, as well as a surrogate relative
to many at Original Providence. Carlos had a respectful mindset,
was a great person, and would walk a mile to assist anyone. There
would be at times communicable conversations using the general
phrase “Whatever.”
Carlos departed this life on September 13, 2022, to live with his
Heavenly Father. He joined his brother, Stanley Jr., and uncle, Alex.
Carlos leaves to honor his memory: his loving wife, Angela;
parents, Stan and Mary Luster; siblings, Jose (Kim) and Malinda;
grandmother, Ernestine Strickland; aunts, Joann (Donald) Lee,
Kristine McNair, Gloria Jean McNair, Robin Tina Strickland,
Regina Strickland, Antoinette Currin, Dorothy Jean Penn, and
Theresa Davis; uncles, Rodney Collier, Clarence Collier, Jr.,
Michael Collier, Larry Strickland, and Ronald Strickland; nephews
and nieces, Steven, Yasmine, D’yontae, Shania, Talyilah, Tamiah,
Sherrick, and Imani; great-nephews, Tramaine and Mitchell; and
a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
