Obituary

Carolyn Eunice (Henderson) Marsh was born on March 12, 1957, to the late Charles Henderson and Eunice Banks-Henderson in Chicago, Illinois. She was the seventh of nine children. At a very young age, Carolyn accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at Greater Open Door Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church of Austin with the late Reverend Milton Brunson, where she loved God, and she loved to sing. Carolyn was an active member of the Combined Choirs. In her early years, she was a member of the Greater Open Door Missionary Baptist Church Choir under the direction of the late Corrine Armstrong and the Department of Human Services Choir under the direction of the late Barbara Williams. Carolyn was a member of Heritage International Christian Church with Bishop Dwight Gunn as Senior Pastor. She loved the Music and Arts Ministry and hearing the word of God. Carolyn attended David G. Farragut High School, where she was in the Farragut High School Mixed Choir under the direction of Constance Dubose. Later, Carolyn married Micheal Marsh, Sr.; they re-located to Madison, Wisconsin, for a few years. She had various employment opportunities over the years. She loved talking to people and she impacted many lives during her employment at The Whitehall Hotel, Jewels Osco, and K-mart, where she retired. Carolyn loved life, loved people, and loved having a good time. One of the many things she enjoyed in life was spending time with friends and family. You could always find her at any celebration on the dance floor with her dance partner and brother, Kenneth (Kenny) Henderson. She spent time volunteering for The Jesse White Tumbling Team Events with her sister, Sheila Larry. On January 3, 2022, Carolyn was called from her earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father and King. Carol’s warm and quiet spirit, her generous heart, the concern for others well-being, her humble spirit, not to mention her quick-witted responses. She will be greatly missed. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Henderson and Eunice Banks-Henderson, and her brothers, Lawrence Barnes, and Arthur Barnes. She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Lashon Rutledge, Salathial (Tracie) Henderson, and Micheal Marsh II (Deisy); her five grandchildren, Tiarra, Chris, Alayiah, Micheal Marsh III, and Lashon Rutledge, Jr.; five siblings, Sheila (Luther) Larry, Lenetta (Byron) Williams, Greta (George) Allen, Ronald (Juliet) Barnes, Micheal Barnes, and Kenneth Henderson; she will also be missed by her special friends, Pastor Willie Marie Davis, Susan Ott, and Adrienne Bond; as well as nume
