CARRIE FORD, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and nurse, passed away peacefully, leaving a legacy of love, service, and faith. Born on August 5, 1950, to Lee Roy and Mildred Ford on the west side of Chicago, Illinois. Her upbringing in a close-knit family shaped her compassionate and nurturing nature, traits that defined her life. Carrie’s early years were spent in Chicago, where she attended local schools and went on to earn her nursing degree from Malcolm X College. Her passion for helping others led her into a distinguished career as a registered nurse, a profession in which she excelled for over thirty years. Carrie was not only dedicated to patient care, but she also took great pride in teaching CNA courses, inspiring future generations of healthcare professionals. Her dedication to her work touched countless lives and earned her the respect of her colleagues and students alike. Carrie was a devoted mother to four children: Samuel Heard, Michelle Ford, Michael Ford, and James London. Her children were her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in raising them with love, faith, and strong values. Carrie was also a cherished member of a large family, with twelve brothers and sisters. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, warmth, and stories shared, always led by Carrie’s welcoming smile and her ability to make everyone feel at home. A faithful Christian, Carrie was an active member of Healing Temple Church, where she served her community with the same compassion and generosity she showed in every aspect of her life. She was known for her steadfast faith, her love for Christ, and her commitment to living a life that reflected His teachings. Whether through her church, her work, or her personal life, Carrie embodied the spirit of giving, always offering encouragement, support, and a kind word to those around her. She was also a Sunday school Superintendent, on the nurses board and a licensed missionary. She brought her children back and forth to church faithfully. Also brought her grandchildren to get saved. Carrie will be remembered for her radiant smile, her warm heart, and her unwavering devotion to her family, faith, and friends. She had a remarkable ability to uplift and motivate those around her, always encouraging others to strive for greatness and to lead lives of purpose and integrity. Her legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. Carrie was preceded in death by her son, Michael; brothers, Alphonso Ford and Ricky Ford. Carrie leaves behind her children: Samuel, Michelle, and James; siblings, Hattie Mae Ford, Andrew Ford, Ora Lee Ford, Pearl Lee Wright Perry, Brenda Ford, Irene Ford, Robert Lee Ford, Gussie Ford, and Bennie Ford; a host of grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of extended family, and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Her life was a beautiful example of how one person’s love and dedication can make a lasting impact on the world.
