Clarence Clark- Venson Obituary

Clarence Martell Clark/Venson, was born July 20, 1985 to Geraldine Clark and Willie Williams, in Chicago, Illinois. Clay was later
adopted and blessed with a bonus mother in Evangelist Yvonne
Venson who would raise, care for and love as her own.
On July 21, 2024, peacefully in his sleep, Clarence earned his
“Crown and Wings of Glory” o cially crowning him King. He
is preceded in death by grandparents, Ella McGee, Bennie L.
Clark, Sr., Elaine Venson, Bernice  omas, Shirley Williams, and
Willie Williams, Sr.; aunties, Portia “Wookie” Clark, and  eresa
“Midnight” Clark; uncle, Bennie “Pumpkin” Clark; two brothers,
Javon Lee and Willie Williams, Jr.; and two cousins, Taurean
“Tank” Smith and DeAsia Underwood.
Clay accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Raised
in Cabrini Greens, Clay graduated from Jenna Academy of the
Arts Grammar School, he attended Hyde Park High School, and
got certi cations from Academy of the Arts Cooking School. His
passion for cooking would feed many with little or alot he can
make something out of nothing.
King Clay’s passion for cooking led him to be the head chef at
WingStop, he had the best wings in and out of WingStop, he loved
his job let him tell it he owned the place! A Jack of all Trades, King
Clay did it all!!! Show him one time, put his music on blast, a four
pack and some Newports, he was good to go!!! Clay was VERY
proud of his families he loved hard, he was most proud of his two
boys TreyQuan and TreyVon. Clay showed and showered everyone
with love that came into his presence. He was a jokester, a giver, a
provider, a handyman, a barber/hair braider, a  xer and amongst
many other things he was a PROTECTOR. Clay loved children; he
adopted so many kids as his own he did his best to instill in them
con dence and self-su ciency. Once he loved you, he loved you
unconditionally.
Clay was FEARLESS and emotional, his passion would get him
into trouble but if you knew his heart you knew he never meant
it he just had di culties expressing it. Clay wanted to make his
loved ones proud of him and to see him doing everything he said
he would do. He made the decision to stop drinking, he signed his
papers for his  rst apartment and was just waiting on a phone call,
his son’s graduation was one of his proudest moments.
Clay would give away his last and if you ask him why? He would say
I don’t need all that!!! He sees you doing something incorrectly, he
will stop you and show you the correct way to do it because “see
if you do it right the  rst time you ain’t gotta worry bout it.” He
called all men Kings and Women Queens, he was a motivator even
when he needed it the most.
