Clyde Davenport was born on
September 25, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, to the union
of Lousie Meeks and Clyde Davenport, Sr.
Clyde attend Austin High School before serving in
the Army for eight years.
Early on, Clyde attended Safe Landing M. B.,
Church under the leadership of Reverend Charles
Raymond. He later attended Lilly of the Valley M.
B. Church under the leadership of Reverend Johnny
Walker.
Clyde was a joyful man who could light up any
room, especially when he would start singing. He was
a devoted father, son, and brother. He enjoyed cooking
and spending times with his family and friends.
Clyde was called to eternal rest on February 6,
2026. He leaves to cherish in his memory: his wife,
Alma Jeanne Davenport; sisters, Erma Groves, Jeanie
K. Meeks, Jeanie Davenport, and Patricia Davenport;
brothers, Robert Earl Davenport, David Davenport,
Michael Davenport, and Roberto Davenport; children,
LaBrandie Sanders, Whinter Dixon, Ieshia Sanders-
Hollis (G. Hollis), Natashia Davenport (Johnny
Marshall), Untavious Davenport, Azuri Falconer, and
Davion Meeks; special son, Keon James; and a host
of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family, and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Meeks
and Clyde Davenport, Sr.; sisters, Diane Guyton and
Princess Meeks; and brother, Nathaniel Davenport.
