Comar Wheeler Obituary

Affectionately known as “Poochie,” and born into the noble house of Comar Sr. and Josephine Wheeler at Cook County
Hospital, King Comar Wheeler, Jr., entered this world as the firstborn heir—destined to lead with courage, wisdom,
and unwavering love. From the very beginning, his life bore the mark of divine purpose and royal grace.

Baptized at New St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Gilbert Treadwell, young
Prince Comar’s faith became the cornerstone of his reign. His early years were filled with energy, curiosity, and the warmhearted
leadership that would define his life.
Being the first born grandchild, he thought he had the juice! He ran over the other grandkids and acted like he was the boss!
Yes, he was very spoiled by his parents and grandparents.
Educated within the noble halls of Henry H. Nash Elementary School, his intellect and determination shone brightly. He
later continued his scholarly journey at Prosser Vocational High School and later received his GED.
Poochie loved family; his nieces and nephews were his pride and joy. He played like a big kid just to entertain them. Walks
to the park and basketball with the kids kept him young.
A thoughtful and reflective monarch, King Comar was often found with a Chicago Sun-Times in one hand and a cup of
coffee in the other—a quiet ruler surveying his realm with wisdom and discernment.

Throughout his reign, he was known by many titles—“Cicero Shabazz” and “King Codeone”—each reflecting a chapter of
his royal identity.
As Cicero Shabazz, he ruled with compassion and strength, a man devoted to his people and his community. His service
with CeaseFire reflected his heart for peace—a peacemaker and bridge-builder who sought to heal divisions and bring hope
where despair once lingered.
As King Codeone, he stood as a protector and mentor to all, especially his nieces and nephews. Though he had no children
of his own, his love overflowed like a royal fountain—nurturing generations with laughter, guidance, and joy. His reign
was marked by simple pleasures: the rhythm of music, the thrill of basketball, the laughter of family, and long walks under
open skies.

Left to continue his royal legacy are his beloved parents, King Comar Wheeler, Sr., and Queen Josephine Wheeler; devoted
siblings, Bryant Wheeler (Brenda), Corey Wheeler, Shantavia Wheeler, and Shakira Wheeler; two special little cousins who
were like sisters, Quiana Casey and Damita Coleman; as well as a special brother, Freddie Treadwell; treasured heirs of the
heart—his nieces and nephews, Tatianna Elliot, Demitra Harvey, LaShay Williams, Courtney Harvey, Yarmell Austin, Bryant
Wheeler, Jr., Anthony Reedy, Jr., Levert Shields, Jr., Amya Reedy, Corey Wheeler, Lyric Jones, Korea Powe, Lexi Jones, Zaire
Wheeler, Zaria Wheeler, Armoni Wheeler, Corey Wheeler, Jr., Mason Davidson, and Chase Wheeler; two great-nephews,
Kash and Kairo; one great-niece, Kynlee; and many more beloved members of his royal court.
He also leaves at a host of aunts and uncles, Debra, David, Penny, Shirley (Lee), Mark, Celynthia (Otis), Theresa (Patrick),
Yolanda (Craig), Rochelle (Keith), and Leroy; and many cousins and cherished kin each carrying a piece of his eternal light.

King Comar ruled with both book wisdom and street wisdom, bridging worlds with elegance and integrity. He loved the
rhythm of Tupac and Biggie, the energy of sports, and the enduring heartbeat of the West Side of Chicago—his royal domain.
Above all, he reigned as a King of family, loyalty, and faith—a devoted son, a steadfast brother, a wise uncle, and a faithful
friend. His crown was forged in compassion, his throne built upon love, and his reign shall endure eternally in the hearts
of all who knew him.
“Our King has exchanged his earthly throne for one eternal and divine—
In the glorious presence of his Lord.”
