As usual for Chicago, Illinois, it was slightly snowing on Wednesday,
February 8, 1950, when parents Irma Jean and Oscar Charles Williams,
Sr., presented their second daughter, Connie Jeanette to the world. Two
other siblings had already been presented, Oscar Charles II and Barbara
Ann, and now this family of ve was complete.
Because of her mother’s dedication to Christian education, Connie
attended Shiloh Academy beginning at h grade and matriculated
through high school. Connie Jeanette Williams Robinson was a baptized
member of the Independence Boulevard Seventh-day Adventist Church,
on the Westside of Chicago, Illinois.
Following her high school experience, she entered the workforce. Connie
began working for Spiegel’s Catalogue Company, she was a teacher’s
aide with special needs students, and she volunteered at Daniel Webster
Elementary School in the Parent’s Room. Connie was also the ocial
family babysitter, and the children loved her dearly.
As life progressed, she met her soulmate, Nathaniel Robinson,
aectionately known as Junebug, who was the love of her life. As time
passed, they knew they had to become one. Junebug proposed to Connie
and when she accepted there was one stipulation: he had to promise
that he would continue cooking. To their union they were blessed with
seven wonderful children: Reese Tate, Vernell Brock, Derrick Williams,
Darren Williams, Dawanna Williams, Vernon Williams, and Vyncent
Bryant Williams (Deceased).
Connie was an awesome wife. She loved her husband. When you saw one
you saw the other. She held many additional titles: sister, grandmother,
mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was
exceptional in ALL her roles—just ask her nephews and nieces. ey all
loved Auntie Connie. She will always be known for her love of Bingo and
playing cards with the family, and her crispy fried chicken.
She was preceded in death by her mom, dad, brother, son, granddaughter,
grandson, and special aunt known to all as “Tee”. Connie leaves to
mourn her passing: six children, Reese (Robin) Tate of Seattle, WA,

and Darren Williams, both of Chicago, IL, Dawanna (Phillip) Williams
of Hopemills, NC, and Vernon Williams of Chicago, IL; seventeen
