Corena Marie Lane was born on October 15,
1943, in Chicago, Illinois, to the proud parents of Sylvester
and Dorothy Lane. She was preceded in death by her father,
Sylvester Lane; son, Tyrone Lane; sister, Bobbie Jean Ferguson;
and brother, William Lane.
Corena was baptized at an early age. She attended Original
Providence Baptist Church. She later joined First Church of
Deliverance under the leadership of Pastor Gray.
Corena worked for Brach’s Candy Factory for many years.
She later worked for Addis Home Health Care, from where
she retired. Although she retired, she still did private care for
people that she knew and their families.
Corena was known to many as “Coco.” She was very well
known. Everywhere she went, she knew somebody that knew
somebody. She loved to play cards and Keno with her family.
Whenever she started to lose, she called everyone “Janky!”
She enjoyed working as the security, maintenance, supervisor
and overseer of the Salvation Army. She was loved by the
many tenants in her building as well as the leadership team
of the Salvation Army. She was loved by her family and many
friends. She loved to send cards in the mail and had beautiful
handwriting.
Corena Marie Lane leaves to cherish: two sons, Cornelius
(Donna) Lane-Pijeaux and Darryl Lane; beautiful loving
mother, Dorothy Lane; two sisters, Jeanette An eld and Pastor
Lillian (Artemio) Alejandrez; two brothers, Abraham and
Michael Lane; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren;
a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, greatnieces,
great-nephews, cousins, and friends; and special
friends Joanne and Carl, Barbara Ray, Laura, Jerry Lewis,

Army).
Special thanks to Ms. Newton.
