Darlencia was born on August 24, 1983, in Maywood, Illinois, to Darlene Mullen and Donnell Daniel. Darlencia was affectionately known as Pooh. She was Darlene’s baby and Donnell’s eldest child, and she played her dual role well. Darlencia was educated in district 88 and graduated from Proviso West High School. She was a hard worker and a free spirit who loved interior decorating and all things beauty which led her to start her own buisness, “Deez Eye Candy.” Darlencia was a wonderful mother to two beautiful children, Ja’Niya Hughes and D’Klyn Hawkins, but she also loved her first adopted baby, Darnell Richardson, better known as Peeka, and her adopted daughter, Kakijah. Pooh devoted her time as an administrator to her Dawg Pound Football Family, whom she loved. She was the life of the party and sometimes the whole party. Darlencia was a fighter. Diagnosed with kidney failure in 2018, this sent her world into a tailspin, but Darlencia was resilient and fought hard to overcome this battle. She was gifted a kidney in this fight from one of her many partners in crime, Keith McKinney. Darlencia departed this life on June 29, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Darlene Mullen; father, Donnell Daniels (Krystal); grandmother, Mammie Daniel; daughter, Ja’Niya Hughes; son, D’Kyln Hawkins; brothers, Edmond Clemons, Marcus Daniel, and Shawnnell Daniel; sister Requicha Clemons (Brandt); nephews, Brandon Clemons, Darnell Richardson, Marshawn Clemons, and Sir Messiah; nieces, Talisa Edwards (Derrick), Chamiqua Clemmons, Jasmin Felton (Joshua), Darnesha Price, Juana Clemons, Genial Berry, and Kamilah Berry; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, friends, and family.
