Darrick Christopher Jones

Darrick Christopher Jones was born to Willie Jean Jones and Nathaniel Strawder on January 30, 1970, in Massillon, Ohio. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Fletcher Mothershed. He graduated from Carl Schurz High School and later went on to receive a certification as a Basic Fire Fighter and HAZMAT Control Specialist from Southeastern Illinois University. Darrick was a loving and devoted father, a caring brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend to anyone he crossed paths with. To know him was to feel welcomed, loved, supported. and truly cared for. He had a genuine heart with a willingness to help all without hesitation and a deep love for his family that was unmatched! Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a laugh and meal, or simply being there when needed, he gave himself freely and whole-heartedly. He had several passions that connected him to others but none of the compared to his annual hunting vacation with his brothers and his love of cars like “Black Beauty,” his 1967 Pontiac Lemans. His memories will live on in the many lives he impacted in the 55 years he graced this Earth. Darrick was called home to be with the Lord on December 15, 2025, at 3:51 PM. He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel; stepfather, Fletcher; grandparents, Willie “Nick” and Elma B. Jones; great grandmother, Willie “Muddear” Vincent; aunt, Mildred “Money;” and cousins, Demetria, Demarcus, Clarence, and Aundre.  He is survived by his mother, Willie Jean Jones; four children, Christopher, LaToya, Darius, and Darianna; twelve siblings, Carl (Sheri), Dana (Tracy), Jennifer, Edwin (Shenann), Sonya, Curtis, Shequita, Shejuanis, Sheronda, Claudia, Sandria, and Anthony “Lope;” three grandchildren, Bailey, Savannah, and Islah; loving and supportive former spouse, QuWanna; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
