DASHAWWNA MAYMEKA THREATT
“Munchie” was born on March 12, 1996, in Melrose Park, Illinois, to mother, the late Tomika Nelson and father, Dathan Threatt, Jr.
Dashawwna accepted Christ and was baptized at an early
age under leadership of Pastor John E. Cooley. Dashawwna
attended Sunnyside Elementary School and graduated from Proviso East High school.
Dashawwna bared two Daughters, Jahnyla and Saniyah.
Dashawwna loved shopping and spending money on her and her daughters. She loved to play dress up with her two girls. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She loved traveling and taking trips to get a different experience at life. She enjoyed cooking with her dad, and she loved to eat and try new things. Dashawwna enjoyed life and lived it up to the fullest. Dashawwna enjoyed making herself look good; she always said, “If you look good, you feel good.” Dashawwna enjoyed life and wanted to the best for herself and her kids. She was loved by so many.
At an early age, she started a small business in with a name created to honor her grandmother, Gloria, and her mother, Tomika “Mek”, GloriousMek. She expanded her horizon to another level by opening her very own business suites, where she kept elevating with GloriousMek Suites.
Dashawwna departed this life on October 25, 2022, in Chicago, Illinois, at 1:15 p.m. at the University of Chicago Hospital. Waiting for her at the pearly gates of Heaven where her mother, Tomika nelson; grandmother, Gloria Osbourne; both grandfathers, Dathan Threatt, Sr., and Willie Osborne; great-grandmother, Cora Lee Anderson; aunt, Coretta Threatt; and uncle, Sedgwick Osborne.
Dashawwna leaves to cherish her memories: father, Dathan Threatt, Jr. (Lekia); two beautiful daughters, Jahnyla and Saniyah “Bella;” grandmother, Hattie Threatt of Bellwood IL; grandfather, Charles Nelson of Memphis, TN; sisters, Kiari and Makayla; brothers, Kevon Threatt, Cedric Ellery, and Damon; one niece, Ryleigh; one nephew, King; one aunt, Zentia (Trell) of Chicago, IL; one uncle, Anthony Matlock (Tanika) of Naperville, IL; her two best friends, Keishonna (Tae) and Jeremy (Baldy); two special friends, Jaquez and Steve; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
