David Hicks

David Hicks was born May 14, 1953, in Duncan, Mississippi, to Willie and Della Mae Hicks, Sr., both of whom preceded him in death. He accepted Christ at an early age. David attended Brooks Elementary and graduated from Broadstreet High School. In 1972, David relocated from Duncan, Mississippi, to Chicago, Illinois. On February 14, 1991, David married Brenda Perkins, and to this union, two children were born. David worked as a dedicated engineer for over thirty years. David will be remembered for his loving, giving, and kind spirit. He never turned anyone around and was always willing to help others. On Monday, December 16, 2024, David transitioned from his earthly home. David was preceded in death by a daughter, Susandra Brown; a son, Gabriel Hicks; a grandson, Daniel; a brother, Willie Hicks, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Albert Coffey; and a sister-in-law, Bobbie Hicks. David leaves to cherish his precious memories: wife, Brenda; son, Demarius; daughter, Melody; brothers, Booker (Forestine), Henry (Lubertha), and Lee (Lisa); sisters, Otha and Carolyn (David); mother-in-law, Clara; sister-in-laws, Joanne (Curtis), Velma, and Cynthia; brother-in-laws, Tommie, Charles (Renee), Carl, Eugene, Antonio, and Greg (Kim); three godchildren, VaNeesha, Jayvonta, and Tekenya; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
