Deacon Johnny Walker Sr. Obituary

Deacon Johnny L. W alker, Sr., was born to Eddie and Viola Walker on March 29, 1937, in Mendenhall, Mississippi. At an early age Deacon Johnny L. Walker was baptized and became a member at Dry Ridge Missionary Baptist Church of Dry Ridge Mississippi under the leadership of Pastor Arthur Davis. In 1972, Deacon Johnny L. Walker met the love of his life, Mary H. Walker of New Hebron, Mississippi. To this union were born four children. In 1981, Deacon Johnny L. Walker was baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost while attending Healing Temple of God under the leadership of his late brother Deacon Louis J. Walker. In 1998, Deacon Johnny L. Walker became a member of Apostolic Church of Austin, now known as Another Chance Assembly (A.C.A.), under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop David C. Kay and Co-Pastor Lady Stephanie D. Kay, where he served and worked faithfully. Deacon Johnny L. Walker departed this life on the morning of March 14, 2022, the day after receiving all the love, farewells, flowers, and most of all the love from his honey, Mary H. Walker. Deacon Johnny L. Walker went on to glory and was preceded by his parents, Eddie D. and Viola Walker; two sons, James E. Griffin, Sr., and Brian Walker; one daughter, Natasha Walker; two grandson, Devin Alexander Le Camdyn Pinkins and Brian Walker; one granddaughter, Brittney Walker; eight brothers, David Walker, Elder Louis J. Walker, Lester Walker, Willie Walker, Eddie Walker, Frank Walker, Robert Walker, and Excel Walker; and three sisters, Ella Mae Walker, Alice Pearl Walker, and Christine Woods. He leaves to cherish his precious memories and stories: his wife, Mary H. Walker; his parents-in-law, JT and Pinkie Walker of Mississippi; three sons, Robert Clark of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Johnny L. Walker, Jr. (Vera), of Chicago, Illinois, and Robert Richardson of Ohio, Georgia; two daughters, Regina Walker and Cherry Walker, both of Chicago, Illinois; 31 grandchildren, James Griffin, Jonathon Robison, Jessica Robison, Pernitha Battie, Jasmine Griffin, James Griffin, Jermaine Griffin, Carissa Clark, Christina Clark, Christopher Clark, Briunna Pinkins, Johnnera Walker, Jasmine Goldman, Dejah Cobbs, Jarvion Walker, Brian Walker, Davontay Walker, Anthony Walker, Keyaante Walker, Faye Walker-Willams, Alexis Walker-Williams, Lance Walker, Courtney Jackson; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one daughter-in-law, Latonya Shears; sisters-in-law, Geneva Walker, Dora Walker, Ernestine Walker, Lucille Walker, Janice Magee, Alice Mcduffey, Mable Newsome, Jewel Cato, and Eliza Pope; godchildren, Mertis Walker, Ronald Walker, Katina Mowatt, Kathy Walker, and Angie Cooper; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; one honorary son, Suffragan Bishop David C. Kay (Stephanie); honorary daughter, Sister Teresa Andrews; the A.C.A. family; his best friend of 70 years, Joe Cone; and special families, The Woods family, The Lirios Family, The Williams Family, The Oluleye Family, The Boyd Family, and The Eberhardt Family
