Deacon Lamont A. Sturdivant

Deacon Lamont A. Sturdivant, Sr. was born February 20, 1975 to Grace Ann Sturdivant, and Aaron Hampton in Chicago, Illinois. Lamont was a happy child.
Lamont attended Melody Elementary School. He later attended Marshall High School where he was on the football team. After graduating from high school he attended Coyne Business School where he graduated and became a licensed electrician.
Lamont accepted Christ at an early age. He attended St. Michael M.B. Church where he had a love for God. At St. Michael is where he grew up with his church friends and his church friends became his church family. Lamont was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of the late Pastor Clifford Spears. He was a faithful member until his health started to fail.
Lamont and his mother Grace had a special bond. Lamont was all about family. He loved his family, friends and his St. Michael church family.
In 1999 Lamont met the love of his life Veronica Smith. September 23, 2000 they got married. To this union 2 children were born Lamont Jr. and Chianti. Lamont also helped raise a bonus son Antwoin.
Lamont was a jack of all trades. He worked for P.A.E.C as a paraprofessional, held security jobs and later worked for Ford Motor Company. Lamont was loved by many and will truly be missed.
Lamont is preceded in death by his Mother Grace Sturdivant, and other family and friends.
Lamont Sr. leaves to cherish his loving memory his children Lamont Jr., Chianti, Antwoin and their mother Veronica. His Sturdivant family, His favorite cousin Robert, ( Shavanda) Nix and five best friends Shawn Baker, Teriko Wilson, Joel Mason, Desmond Williams and Dr. Leverette Bryant. He also leaves a godmother, Deloris Williams. His St. Michael Church Family. He also leaves a host of Aunt’s, uncles, cousins and friends.
