Demetris was born April 1, 1971, in Chicago, Illinois,
to Spencer Davis and the late Thomas Davis. On August 28,
2022, Demetris departed his life. He was the second child of
four boys, the other three being Timothy Davis and Jonathan
Davis, who both preceded him in death, and Nakia Davis. He
was the grandchild of Viola Moore, Spencer Moore, Anna Davis,
and C. Davis who also all preceded him in death.
He accepted Christ into his life at an early age at New Tabernacle
Church under the leadership of Norman L. Russell, Sr.
He went to Our Lady of Help Christian School and later he
attended Maine High School in Augusta where he received his
high school diploma. In his younger years, he joined the Jesse
White Tumbling Team. He worked for Rem Ferrarapan Candy
Factory until he made his departure.
He excelled in basketball and he loved fashion (his gym shoes),
being social, and cheering on the Chicago Bears. He loved just
being Meachy, telling you just how it was.
He leaves to cherish: his loving mother, Reverend Spencer
Davis; three brothers, Nakia Davis (Toni), Eddie Davis, and
his godbrother, Don Upchurch, who was very special to him
and they loved each other dearly; special friend who was the
love of his life, Delonda Foxx “Lil Moma;” bonus children, Nick
and Ce-Ce; six nephews, Damien, Jonathan, Keshoun, Tavion,
Randy, and Kevonne; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and
last but not least, THE LECLAIRE STREET FAMILY!
