Dennis Moore Obituary

Dennis Wayne Moore was born on June 30, 1945 in
Lexington, Mississippi as the youngest child of Causey
Moore, who preceded him in death. Dennis was preceded in
death by his siblings, Billy and Wesley; nieces, Vanessa and
Brenda Mack; and a nephew, Carl Mack.
Dennis W. Moore attended and matriculated from Vaiden
High School in Lexington, MS. Dennis, as a young man,
followed his older siblings in migrating to Chicago, Illinois
in 1964. After being employed for over six years and enjoying
Chicago, Dennis was drafted into the United States Army
to assist with the War in Vietnam. Drafted in 1968, Dennis
W. Moore excelled in the United States Army!! Dennis was
trained as a Sharpshooter; received The National Defense
Service Medal; The Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze
Service Stars and The Vietnam Campaign Medal for Bravery/
Service. Dennis was proud to be a Serviceman!!
Upon Dennis’ Honorable Discharge from The US Army, he
decided to repatriate himself back to his roots in Mississippi
and he settled in Greenwood where, he was employed by
the City of Greenwood, MS. Dennis was able to work,
purchase several properties and expand his love of fast,
slick and powerful muscle cars! Dennis worked for the City
of Greenwood until his health no longer allowed him to.
Dennis was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle,
friend, army man, and confidant to many who knew and
cared about him.
Dennis departed this life on Friday, September 27, 2024 in
Indianola, MS. The most fond memories will forever rest with:
his daughter, Theresa of Chicago, IL; sisters, Voncille Mack
and Lynda Calhoun, both of Chicago, IL; nieces, Pamela,
Yvonne, and Helen; nephews, Terry and Lerenzo (Hope);
great-nieces, Alexandria (Jared), Taylor, Terri Lynn, and TJ;
great-nephews, Mario, Myles, and Christian; and, Special
Cousin, Jeff, who never missed visiting weekly and bringing
the favorite treats that Dennis absolutely loved! Love, Peace
& Respect to Caregivers – Daisy Joiner and Bernice B. Doyle
and all of the care assistance that they provided to Dennis!

also to V.A. & Hospital Nurses Betsy and Sally.
