DESHAUN “SHAUN” CHETWYN RODGERS was born on September 6, 1989, to Minister Lawrence Elliott Rodgers, Sr., and Cathy Denise Rodgers. Shaun attended Simeon Career Academy High School, in Chicago, Illinois and graduated in 2008. Shaun excelled at all things related to athletics and fitness. While attending Simeon High School, he played on the baseball, basketball, and football teams. Shaun also made the AllConference Team and played on numerous championship teams. Shaun eventually moved away from sports and became interested in physical health. He began working out and inspired others to pursue their lifelong journey of living a more active lifestyle. Many sought after Shaun’s passion for fitness, and he became an entrepreneur and started his own business being a personal trainer and offering ondemand classes. Shaun was featured on the cover of Redeye, a local magazine in Chicago, Illinois. He also produced countless fitness videos. While continuing to pursue his fitness goals, Shaun began working in the food industry, where he was able to combine his fitness lifestyle with healthy eating. Shaun moved to Miami, Florida in 2017, where to started personal training there to educate clients about fitness lifestyle changes. Shaun became a father to Shyon in 2010, and in 2011 Ajani was born. Shaun’s boys were the light of his life. He adored his boys and tried to be a good example for them. Deshaun is survived by: his two sons, Shyon Rodgers and Ajani Birt; his mother, Cathy Denise Rodgers; two brothers, Lawrence Rodgers, Jr., and Antonio Rodgers; one sister, Jazmine Rodgers; five uncles, Walter King, Curtis Rodgers (Daphine), Chetwyn Rodgers (Willa), Brian Hoosier (Myra, deceased), and Norman Hoosier (Martha); four aunts, June RodgersCalhoun, Kimberly Pete (Kelly), Karen Hoosier, and Gloria Butler (Moses); two grandmothers, Mary Rodgers and Mary Hoosier; and a massive host of cousins, family, and friends. Shaun was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Elliott Rodgers; two grandfathers, Elder Chetwyn Rodgers and Nelson Hoosier; two uncles, Paul Rodgers and John Rodgers; and one nephew, Maurice Hoblert.
