DEVANTE SEAN DARNELL GASTON-GEORGE was born on April 10, 2003, in Jacksonville, Florida to LaShonia Gaston. At the tender age of eighteen months, he was adopted and raised by his uncle and aunt, Fred Sr. and Patricia George in Chicago, Illinois. DeVante grew up in a God-fearing household and was taught to grow in reverence for God. e family stressed the importance of getting a good education. He was educated in the Chicago Public School system, graduating from William Penn Elementary School in 2017, and received his 8th grade diploma. His love for the arts came as a result of attending Little Village’s Multicultural Arts High School. When he graduated in 2022 with his high school diploma, he wanted to do more with his new discovery. He started with amateur photography, taking pictures of family and of nature. He later experimented with music, creating his own rhymes. Eventually, he lmed videos and posted on the latest social media platforms. He held various labor jobs. However, the opportunity to have a more stable line of work came when he became involved with mentoring programs, such as UCan and Boys’ Brotherhood Republic (BBR). ese organizations, in their respective roles, help prepare youth for life, teaching leadership skills. His life was spent in a loving and nurturing environment. He was wellknown in the community, always willing to help others. He departed this life on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the age of 20. He will be greatly missed! He leaves to mourn: his Adoptive parents, Fred Sr. and Patricia George and mother, LaShonia Gaston; brothers, Richard Gaston (Audrey) of Chicago, IL, Keyon Blackmon of Chicago, IL, Gerald Hill of WI, Fred George, Jr., and Elijah Gaston of Chicago, IL; sisters, Dajana Reed, Sherie Gaston, and Margo George, all of Chicago, IL; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends
