Douglas Brown Obituary

Douglas Demetrius “Doomie” Brown was born on February 27, 1975, to Gladys L. Brown and Douglas Benjamin. Both parents preceded him in death. Douglas was the seventh of nine children. Douglas attended St. Malachy Catholic School, where he completed his elementary education. Upon entering high school, he attended both Weber and Sullivan High Schools. He graduated from Cregier Vocational, where he was the proud salutatorian of his graduating class. Douglas went on to attend St. Mary’s University for two years, obtaining skills in education. Douglas was raised with a strong faith, and he believed in Christ as his Lord and Savior. Additionally, he was baptized at the age of twelve. Douglas married Connie Abram-Brown, and to their union, three children, Ariell, Dontrell, and D’Monte Brown, were born. His wife, Connie, preceded him in death. Douglas shared his love with his companion and best friend, Keisha Murphy. Their bond allowed them to blend their families together. Keisha also preceded him in death. Douglas was a person full of love and laughter. He will always be remembered as that hilarious individual everyone was glad to “hang out” with. His favorite pastime was playing video games, watching his favorite anime show, Dragon Ball-Z, playing Dominos, and watching his favorite movie of all time, Godzilla. He also enjoyed the many sequels of The Avengers movies, and his favorite cartoon character was The Tasmanian Devil. Ultimately, Douglas enjoyed barbequing for his family and friends. Of all things that were Douglas, he mostly had a heart that was larger than life. His family was the center of his joy! Douglas’s enormous love and fond memories will live in the hearts of: his children, Ariell Brown, Dontrell Brown, D’Monte Brown, Emeshia Brown, Dmarius Ward-Murphy, Ciera Murphy, and Darnell Abram; four grandchildren, Nehemiah Brown, Amelia Powell, Corieon, and Kyrie Sims; six siblings, Gloria Maxie (Michael), George Brown (Marie), Trina Brown, Theon Johnson (DeMon), Authur Brown, and Joseph Brown; three adopted siblings, Jason, Andrew, and Tonisha Brown; two brothers, Curtis and Willie Brown, both preceded him in death; twenty-three nieces and nephews; nineteen great-nieces and great-nephews; two best friends, Cortez Zollicoffer and Jacqueline Smith; and a host of other loving family and friends.
