Illinois, to the union of Archie Randle, Jr., and Sammie Mary Randle. His father, Reverend Archie Randle, Jr., and grandparents all preceded him in death. Growing up in a Christian-based household at an early age, Edward accepted Christ and was baptized by the late Reverend Fred Daniels at Mount Olive Baptist Church. Edward actively attended bible classes, enjoyed singing in choir, and was instrumental in playing the piano. Edward attended Robert A Waller High School. His extra –curriculum During his years there he was often asked to perform at annual events by signing, playing and even standup comedian performances. Edward had a love for reading and writing poems and songs. He was a perfectionist for his grammar. He was innovative and could compose a thought or vision within seconds. Edward had a zest for life, a big smile that would light up the room, and he could converse with anyone on any level. He was known for his intelligence and quick sense of humor. In fact, he was known to be a comedian at times. He was an impeccable dresser to the point he would wear colors you wouldn’t expect a male to wear. He had a proud and swift walk that you could spot him a mile away. It was during this time having such characteristics, he became affectionately known as “KOOL”. In fact, that’s the only name some knew. After high school, Edward worked for the Social Security Administration for many years. There he met Karen Brooks who later became the mother of his son, James Brooks. Edward felt James was his greatest gift in life!!! Edward later continued his education at Harold Washington College in Chicago. He completed in education while residing in Virginia. When relocating back to Chicago, he utilized his social service skills by helping others with legal matters, housing and obtaining educational support. Edward knew God had not forsaken him and he reinstated his membership with Greater New Mt Olive MB Church under the leadership of Reverend Archie Randle III. He was dedicated and served in many capacities within the church Edward leaves to cherish and honor his memories: his mother, Sammie Mary Randle; son, James Brooks; sister, Helen Randle; brothers, Christopher Randle and Reverend Archie Randle III (Lena); and granddaughter, MacKenzie Adore Brooks. Edward also has a sizeable family which includes aunts, uncles, nephews, great-nieces, cousins, the Brooks family, extended family members, and a host of other friends and loved ones.
