Lumpkin and Antonio Adger all preceded him in death.
He was educated in the Argo Public School System, and graduated from Summit Argo Community High

Donta was a fun loving guy with a huge contagious smile; he was a big jokester with a great sense of humor. He
adored his family and loved to attend family functions wherever the family would meet. Growing up, Donta
loved to play spades and Uno- watch out because he would cheat!
Donta throughout his career worked in the field of security, he was a college enrollment advisor at the former
Olympia College, and ended his corporate career at Northern Trust Company where he worked from 2007
until his health started to decline.
Donta accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where he helped
birth Youth In Action Choir. His ministry began to flourish as Assistant Pastor at Destiny Empowerment
Ministry and Senior Pastor at The Reach Church until he joined The Glory House- Chicago in 2016.
While he was an accomplished self - taught musician. He loved music of all genre’s, from gospel to blues
and yes jazz! He used his gift of music by playing at many churches abroad including Triedstone Full Gospel
Baptist Church, Centennial Baptist Church, and the Glory House- Chicago.
Donta truly loved life. He also had a passion for cooking and was an amazing grill master. Oftentimes he
would have several huge smokers going at the same time, even late into the night. He loved to travel and was
excited about finally taking his ultimate island trip to Honolulu Hawaii in 2021. He was a sharp dresser, and
he really loved fashion- he was definitely a man of style. He loved wearing suits, ties, full length coats, brims
and yes, shoes.
Donta was an entrepreneur– he often encouraged others to do what they were born to do. He had recently
formulated his own real estate organization- Khadon Services LLC, and was learning the parameters of
that industry until the end. He was also a contributing author of the book “Brotha My Brotha”…which is a
compilation of inspirational writings to bless, inspire and encourage men of all ages.
Donta was a proud member of The Glory House- Chicago where he served faithfully since 2016. He was a
servant after God’s own heart! He walked in the door and rolled up his sleeves and began working. He was an
ordained Elder and Executive Pastor who has contributed to landmark achievements our ministry has had
throughout the years.
After a lengthy illness the Lord called Donta home on Saturday, September 3, 2022, while at Northwestern
Memorial Hospital with his best friend, and two nieces Ashley Princess Adger and LaKeiia Adger at his
