Sheila Reneta McArthur was born on November 20, 1961, to Helen and General McArthur, Jr. She was the third of nine children born to this union. Her father preceded her in death. Sheila confessed a belief in Christ at the tender age of 12 at the Old Original Missionary Baptist Church of Chicago, IL, under the leadership of Reverend Willie Redic, where she was baptized and continued to serve for a number of years in various ministries. Sheila was part of the first 8th grade graduating class from Jensen Academy in 1975. She attended Manley High School for two years then transferred to Jones Commercial High School where she graduated in 1979. Sheila continued her education and received an Associate Degree in Administration from Robert Morris College. Sheila had a deep love for singing and service. While at Old Original, she sang with the Junior Choir, OOYP Club, and the Adult Choir. In 1987, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Sheila moved her church membership to Liberty Temple Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Apostle Clifford E. Turner and Pastor Sherraine Lathon (both preceded her in death). While at Liberty, Sheila sang in the choir, was on the worship team, and served as the Sunday School secretary and in many other capacities. While at Liberty, Sheila was ordained as an Evangelist. Sheila remained a member of Liberty Temple until she relocated to Albany, GA, as a result of a job transfer with Job Corp as an Executive Administrative Assistant to William Coleman, site director. Sheila joined Rhema International Ministries in 2018 under the leadership of Pastor Scott T. Sanders and Co-Pastor Cynthia R. Sanders. While there, she served various ministries faithfully. Prior to working for Job Corp, Sheila held various jobs in an administrative capacity where she operated with a spirit of excellence! Prior to her falling ill, Sheila worked with Albany Area Primary Health Care as an Administrative Assistant. precious memories as “Ms. Claus,” because at Christmas she made everybody feel special, no matter how long you had been in the family— everybody got a gift. Sheila didn’t have biological children but she had two very special nieces/goddaughters, LaCresia and Brina, whom she loved as if they were her own children. Sheila loved to sing and would sing whenever the opportunity would present itself. She met some of her best friends while singing with the Gospel Unlimited Workshop Choir at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Later in life, she joined Nu City Mass Choir under the leadership of Dennis Cole. However, her favorite group to sing with was always her siblings, Voices United, because nothing was more important to her than her family. Sheila’s superpower was giving. She would do anything for her family that was within her power. She was affectionately known On April 21st, Sheila breathed her last breath and found her total healing with God; no more suffering in this world. She leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved and devoted mother, Helen McArthur; seven sisters, Sonya, Sandra (Paul), Yolanda (Tony), Vanessa, Teresa, Brenda (Joe), and Nataska; three brothers, Michael (Kelliann), James (Patricia), and General III; 24 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; one uncle, Douglas McArthur (Freda); one aunt, Aljulia Brown; two godsons, David Massey, Jr., and Maurice Stuckey; and a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones both near and far. Sheila loved her work, her church families, photography, Avon, music, and playing games, but above all she loved God and she
