A TIME TO BE BORN
On April 1, 1946, a blessing came in the form of a daughter to
Jesse and Onie Goode George in Emerson, Arkansas.
Frances Jean George would embody two qualities that
were abundant in both the Goode and George families: faith and
character.
A TIME TO GROW
Jesse and Onie later relocated to Cullen, Louisiana, where Frances
enjoyed being the youngest of ten children — six brothers and
three sisters.
She attended public elementary school in Cullen, LA, and
graduated from Charles H. Brown High School in 1964.
was baptized at Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. at a young age, where
she remained a devoted member until she moved to Illinois.
Upon relocating, she united with Antioch Missionary Baptist
Church under the leadership of Rev. Henry Blackwell.
Her Antioch family became very dear to her. She developed a
special relationship with her current pastor, Rev. Nathaniel
Randle, and remained a faithful member, serving in many
capacities including the Shepherd’s Ministry, Mothers’ Board,
Trustee Board, Funeral Clerk, and served as President of
the Choir for over 20 years. She also joyfully participated on
numerous committees throughout her years of service.
A TIME TO PLANT
Frances was a dedicated and hard-working woman who took
great pride in everything she did. After moving to Illinois, she
began her professional journey, working in several positions
before joining the 3M Company, where she eventually retired.
Never one to remain idle for long, Frances later returned to the
workforce at Mars, Incorporated, where she joyfully served for
five more years before retiring for the final time.
Her strong work ethic, reliability, and cheerful spirit made her a
beloved colleague and friend. Through her many years of service,
Frances built a legacy of excellence, integrity, and kindness that
left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of
working with her.
Even in retirement, Frances continued to serve her community
through volunteer work with the “Yes I Can” program and the
Argo Coalition for Education (ACE). She was instrumental in
shaping the lives of local youth through tutoring and scholarship
initiatives, leaving a meaningful impact on countless students
and families.
A TIME TO LOVE
On September 3, 1965, Frances married Charles Johnson of
Taylor, Arkansas. Shortly thereafter, they relocated to Argo,
Illinois.
To this union, Reginald, Ricky, and Patrice were born. Jenifer
later joined the family, completing their circle of love.
Frances’ home was one filled with laughter, faith, affection, and
warmth. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and her
nurturing spirit extended to friends, neighbors, and anyone
blessed enough to know her.
A TIME TO MOURN
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and
brothers, and her grandson, Reginald Jalen Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted
husband of 60 years, Charles Johnson; two daughters, Jenifer
(Kendall) Parrott and Vernada Patrice Johnson; two sons,
Reginald (KaNeely) Johnson and Ricky (Melissa) Johnson; four
remaining grandchildren, Tavia Parrott, Kristopher Parrott,
Ricky Johnson, Jr., and Devon Johnson; two great-grandchildren,
Julius Jordan Boyd and Jayda Boyd; her godchildren, Tatiana
Mister and Ashley Randle; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, bonus children, and very dear friends.
A TIME TO DIE
On October 23, 2025, God gently called Frances home to eternal
rest.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, remembered for
her grace, kindness, unwavering faith, and endless love.
Her legacy will live on through her family, her church, and the
countless lives she touched.
