Gail Patton Obituary

GAIL LENEASE PATTON was born on November 19, 1961, in Chicago, IL, to Henry Tripplet and Mary Evarn Patton. Gail brought a spirit of love, joy, and resilience that touched everyone she met. Raised in a faith- lled home, she accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized at Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church, where her journey of faith began. A er graduating from Curie High School, she attended Northwestern University and Devry University. On April 27, 1987, she married Ulysses Franklin Scott III in a union which blessed them with two children, Lenease and Lyle. Gail had a ful lling career as a nail technician, where she found joy in her cra , and later as a Certi ed Nursing Assistant at Dyer Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dyer, IN. Her compassion and dedication brought warmth and comfort to her patients, whom she treated with the utmost respect and care. Her love of singing added a special touch to her caregiving—she o en li ed spirits with her beautiful voice, singing for the residents whenever she could. She continued to serve others with joy and grace until her retirement in 2022 from She eld Manor, where she worked as an Activity Director, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication. A er retirement, Gail devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She visited her mother and children regularly, always eager to lend a helping hand or o er comforting words. A devoted grandmother, Gail had an extraordinary gi for making each grandchild feel uniquely loved and cherished. She attended every event, milestone, and celebration, cheering proudly. Her grandchildren will forever remember the stories she shared over family meals, stories that have now become treasured memories of her boundless love. Gail is preceded in death by her husband Ulysses, her father Henry Tripplet, her stepfather Henderson Bostic, her cherished aunt Burt, her grandmother Doris, her sister Tammy Wesley, her nephew Jeremy Bert, her cousin Sherry Holmes, and her granddaughter Nirmala. She leaves to honor her memory her loving mother Mary, her children Lenease and Lyle, seven grandchildren, her auntie (Bobby), three sisters, three nieces, four nephews, and a host of extended relatives and friends. Each of them carries her memory forward and will forever be inspired by her example. Gail’s light, though absent from this world, will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
