ILL Hughley E. Blanton 33rd, was born August 8, 1934, in Tunica, Mississippi, to proud parents, the late Lafayette and Clara Blanton. ILL Hughley E. Blanton 33rd, was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He departed this life on August 5, 2022, peacefully at Loyola University Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife, Rose, and youngest son, Kal, and he was later joined by other loved ones by his bed side. In Hughley’s early years, he attended Wendell Phillips Academy High School, located on the south side of Chicago, Illinois. In 1961, Hughley met Rose in Chicago, Illinois. They united in holy matrimony for 60 years. Hughley and Rose went on to have two children, the late Khord Blanton and Kal Blanton. Hughley enjoyed time with family and friends, reading, building things, and telling funny stories. He was a very hard working man, he was also self-motivated, a problem solver, critical thinker, knowledgeable, witty, and the anchor to his family. Hughley set off his educational journey, attending Elmhurst University in Illinois, earning a degree in Business management. In 1967, he then went on to Coyne College to study electrical engineering. He began working at Campbell Soup Company and was there for 17 years as a production worker, leading him to open up his own electric heating and air conditioning company, KOGIC LLC. As an entrepreneur, he sought out to invest into properties and other businesses to support his family and build a legacy to be proud of. Of all his accomplishments, ILL Hughley E. Blanton 33rd, wanted to be remembered for his long-time loyal and faithful membership in the Freemason organization and would proudly say he served diligently. He served in the Cross Grand Council state of Illinois Lodge as the 33rd degree mason. In 2004, he became a member of King Hiram lodge #900, where he was a Junior Warden in that lodge. ILL Blanton was also a patron for the Electric Grand Chapter. ILL Hughley E Blanton 33rd, was highly involved in the Freemason organization and loved spending time with his lodge brothers. He helped promote awareness of freemasonry in his town and anywhere he traveled. Hughley was a strong, proud, good man. He was loved and will be missed by many!
