Ivan Curtis Jones, also known as “Love,” was born
on November 20, 1970, to Ida Mae Jones and David Morrow
in Chicago, Illinois. He was the baby of five siblings born to
Ida Mae and David, with a host of other brothers and sisters
on his dad’s side.
Ivan was full of love. He loved his family and he knew
he was loved. He loved helping people and cleaning. He loved
watching tv, shopping, and being around family. But he was
mostly known for cleaning. He couldn’t come over to your
house or business without cleaning up something.
Love will be remembered for his unique laugh, his phone
calls, and his sense of urgency when it was time to get things
done. He was loved in every sense, and he gave his time
willingly.
Love enjoyed spending time with his life-long friends, they
call themselves “D-Jokers.” The original group being Love,
Brian, Pat, Duck, Andrew, Mick, and Dee.
Love joined Refreshing Life Christian Center under the
presiding of his brother, Pastor Ken Morrow Jones. He
enjoyed getting to know God for himself and he attended
church faithfully.
Love made his transition to God’s eternal rest on Monday,
April 17, 2023.
Love was preceded in death by both his parents, Ida Mae
Jones and David Morrow, and his grandson, Derrick Hurd III.
Love leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters,
Felicia (Britian) Teague-Lockett, Terra Holmes, and Monique
(Derrick) Teague, seven grandchildren, Antaniya, Marjae,
Tabitha, Lamario, Bri’ahn, D’Niyah, and Damir (coming
soon); sisters, Lisa Watkins, Daisy (Eric) McLendon, Artist
(Lee) Houston, Tekella Morrow, Darlene Morrow, and
Angelia Grayson; brothers, Pastor Ken (Denise) Morrow
Jones, Mitchell (Michelle) Morrow, M.C. Grayson, and Lance
