Ivory Parks, Jr., was born on June 2, 1958, in
Greenville, Mississippi, to proud parents, the late Carrie Lee
Bradberry and Ivory Parks. At the age of 13, Ivory relocated
to Chicago, where he joined his family to be raised by parents,
Ivory and Isabell Parks, who he considered his mother. He was
one of nine children. Ivory accepted Christ at an early age.
He was baptized at Divine Faith Missionary Baptist Church
under the leadership of Reverend Elijiah Jones. He was a
current member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church
under of the leadership Pastor Charles readgill, Jr., until he
was no longer able to attend.
Ivory attended McLawrence High School. He worked as a
skilled machine operator at Pic N Pac for several years. Ivory
was a ectionately known as Jr., Pink Panther, and Butler. He
was known as Jr. because he had a great love and ear for music
and would often sing. He was known as Pink Panther for his
great sense of humor and for often being a jokester. He was
known as Butler because he loved playing cards and dancing
with family and friends.
God saw t to call his child home and gave Ivory his wings to
y on December 20, 2023.
Preceding Ivory in death was his parents Carrie Lee Bradberry
and Ivory Parks; one brother, Ivan Parks; two children, Carrie
Parks and Jarquese Parks; and two grandchildren, Jessica Beal
and Damien Beal.
Ivory leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Isabell Parks;
three children, Morryketta Gavin, Ebony Parks, and Deandre
Parks; two brothers, Elbert Rose and Terry Parks; six sisters,
Windy Pearson, Brenda Martin (James Martin), Indira Lee
(Tyrone Lee), Felicia DeGra enreid, Danella Scott, and Tanya
Rush (Byron Rush); six grandchildren; one great-grandchild;
eight aunts, including a special aunt, Early Allen; one great-
aunt; four uncles, including a special uncle, Darryl Brooks;
42 nieces and nephews; ex-wife but still a friend, Norma Silas;
two childhood friends, Kenny Arrington and John Lewis; and
a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
