One cool Wednesday, JC Flowers rode into the lives of proud parents, Luster and Alberta Flowers. is great day was September 6, 1950, in Utica, Mississippi. He was the seventh of nine children. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sarah Frezell and Annie B. Flowers; and one great-grandson, Micah. JC was educated in the school systems of Utica, Mississippi, attending Mixon Jr. High. It was also in Utica, Mississippi where he accepted Christ at an early age and attended Strawbridge Baptist Church with his family. He later moved to Pontiac, Michigan, where he completed his education at Je erson High School. Years later, he relocated to Maywood, Illinois, where he became a proud member of the Good Shepherd Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Montgomery. As JC continued his journey working in the trucking industry; he took on many jobs. He worked for McLane Company in Wisconsin for 46 years. He’s the proud founder of C & J Trucking Company in Maywood, Illinois. In 1966, while riding down “the alley” he saw the young woman who later became the love of his life Tywanna Gray. ey united in Holy Matrimony in 1969, and to this union, three children were born. JC was a hard worker and always provided for his family. JC had a passion for riding Harleys and working on the farm. He customized the wheels on his bike, and you could always nd an old-school car in the garage. He was big on family! He was a real-life coach to many, and his favorite saying was, “Pay Attention!” His garage was the place for pull-ups, and he would always leave you with a lesson. He took pride in his work in the kitchen; he baked cakes that kept you coming back. He would go to the farm in Michigan and pick apples from their orchard and bring them back to Maywood. He was always giving back in the neighborhood. In March of 2018, he retired due to health issues. JC started enjoying more time at the farm with the family and the garage pull-ups became more o en than before. On May 6, 2024, at 1:09 PM, at the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, JC took his last ride out. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and beloved wife of 56 years and 5 months, Tywanna Flowers; two sons, Craig (Yolanda) and Quintell (Betty); one and only daughter, Tiah; seven grandchildren, Myesha, LeMia, Carissa, Amyia, Asia, Trinity, and Ashton; three great-grandchildren, Ma’kiyah, Terreon, and Major; four sisters, JoAnne, Rose, Annie Mae, and Nancy; one sister-in-love, Pamela Mohorn; two brothers, Lester Jr. (Cora) and James; special friends, Maurice Ingram, Cottrell (Blade) Williams, Leon Edmond, and Robert Jones; and a host of beautiful nieces, awesome nephews, crazy cousins, and friends
