James Lovett was born January 17, 1959, to James and Willie Ruth Lovett in El Dorado, Arkansas. James was the baby, affectionately called “Junior.” James received his early childhood education in district 104. James also attended Argo Community High School. James was preceded in death by his mother and father. James was a very well known man. Over the years, he became known by many different names. “Lovett,” “Love Bug,” “BFF,” “Sugar Bear,” “Jim,” and “Punch Buddy.” James was employed as a bus driver for many years. Plenty of kids from Argo remember him as their first bus driver. He was also a dedicated crossing guard for years. James was a devoted uncle to his special nephew, Corey Lovett. James loved to watch his great-nephew, Justin Lovett, and his greatniece, Tianna Lovett. He would even look after his “fur” nephew, Mason, as well. James was also a caregiver for the Bazar Family. James also devoted a lot of time to the “Sawyer” kids. James had a way with words. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and cooking and grilling was his passion. Once James’ health began to decline, he became a resident of Aperion Care Nursing Home. Although he was away from his “Argo” family, they kept in touch with him. James had a multitude of people that would visit him with gifts in hand. James expressed his gratefulness to all who stood by him over the years. James never gave up and taught all of us that love comes from the heart. On May 25, 2023, God saw James was tired and called him home. He leaves to cherish: his sister, Lois (Larry) Tate; one niece, Angela (Joe) Cuthbertson; three nephews, Corey, Terrance, and Marlin; five great-nieces; three great-nephews, all from Joliet, IL; family in AR; special sister, Earline Sawyer; special friends, Tony Davis and Paul Sawyer; Nurse Kelly, Nurse Jaime, and the entire staff of Aperian Care in Toluca, IL; and a multitude of friends he loved dearly that loved him just as much.
