Jeff Moore was born on March 1, 1943, in Lexington,
Mississippi, to Richard and Annie Moore.
Jeff attended Blackhawk school in Blackhawk, Mississippi.
He was employed at Chicago Tube and Iron Company. He
retired from here at the age of 62.
Jeff met and married Eloise Perry on February 4, 1967. To this
union, two children were born.
Jeff loved being around his family and friends. He also
loved going on vacations and taking cruises with his family.
Everybody knew Jeff Moore. He especially loved spending
time in Mississippi. When he lived in Chicago, he would take
several trips during the year to go to Mississippi. When Jeff
retired, he decided to move back to Mississippi.
Jeff was a fun person and loved joking with relatives. In fact, he
would affectionately greet his nieces and nephews by saying,
“Hey, UG-MO.”
He loved working side jobs doing construction and he did this
for many years.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Annie
Moore; and sisters, Bessie Moore Caple-Williams and Neomia
Moore-Lewis.
Jeff departed this life on Saturday, February 6, 2026.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Maurice
Moore and Donett Moore; grandchild, Olivia Davis;
great-grandchildren, Dante Houston and Kaylani Turner;
siblings, Aldry (Linnie) Moore, Alean Rhodes, Leon
(Margie) Moore, and Annie Spears; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
We would like to give special thanks to: Charlene Benson,
Bertha Ervin, Inell Redmond, and Gwendolyn Boyd. All of
these individuals helped to take care of Jeff when he was ill.
Your presence will be deeply missed.
