Jeremy Jamal Bert was born on December 15, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Jessie and Joan Bert. Jeremy is the third child of six children. His grandparents, Jessie Bert, Daisy Bert and Henderson Bostic, Jr., preceded him in death.
Jeremy attended Roosevelt Junior High School and graduated from Plainfield North High School in Plainfield, Illinois in 2012.
Jeremy played organized basketball starting from the fifth - twelfth grade with exceptional athletic abilities. In addition, he participated in Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and continued to be a standout player. His interest in music began at an early age. His passion for music was so impressive that as a small child he would take pots from the kitchen cabinets, break clothes hangers and use them as makeshift drumsticks. He used his musical talent at Hopewell PB Church, LivelyStone MBC, New Canaan Land Church, Rock of Ages (south side of Chicago), and Kingdom of God. He had the privilege of playing alongside his dad at four of the churches.
He was baptized as a young child at the LivelyStone MBC under the leadership of the late Pastor Emeritus William Jenkins, Sr. Jeremy realized the importance of renewing his relationship with God. He rededicated his life to Christ on Christmas Day, December 25, 2022, at Broadview MBC in Broadview, IL.
Jeremy’s lovable personality allowed him to be a stranger to no one. He possessed leadership qualities that could motivate others and drive them to higher limits. He was an intelligent young man that could pass interviews successfully and communicate well at any level. He was confident and courageous. Jeremy could brighten any room he walked into and knew just how to put a smile on everyone’s face. Jeremy loved life and always had an infectious smile. His presence will truly be missed.
Jeremy was a devoted father, loving brother and caring son. He leaves to cherish his memories: two children, Journie, Zaire; loving parents, Jessie, Joan; grandmother, Mary; two brothers, Gabriel, LaVelle (Andria); three sisters, Corin, Cashmere, Kourtney and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
