Jerry Jones was born on September 14, 1956, to Albirdie and James Hampton, who preceded him in death. He was nurtured by Alice and Alfred Arnold, who also preceded him in death. Jerry grew up in Dowagiac, MI. He attended Dowagiac High School and gained notoriety as an outstanding track star, later receiving several certificates and training. Jerry moved to Chicago, IL, where he met his true love and began a family of his own. Known to some as “Guru,” Jerry was the great debater. He loved to share knowledge and make people laugh; he created lots of memories with those who love him most. He knew how to bring out the go-getter in all of us, so he will truly be missed. Jerry was called home on December 4, 2021, to his place in Heaven. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and siblings, Theresa, Melvin, Nella, Rosemary, Clifford, and Clemenstine. Jerry leaves to cherish: his loving wife, Tredina Miles Jones; three children, Quincy Murray (Hope) of Dowagiac, MI; Jermain Miles (Shavette), LaShawndra Miles A.K.A. Baby Girl of Chicago, IL, and his princess, LaMeka Hampton (Jared) of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren, Rosadio, Jermaine, Jeremiah, Demarjae, Alivia, Quianna, Nadiah, Elena, Denaeja, Antwan, Jorden, Eladio, and Mireya; one great-grandchild, Amora; siblings, Beatrice Williams, Eara Berry of Michigan, Grace Bell of Tennessee, Geraldine Jones of Illinois, and Jasmine Hall of Nevada; his best friend, Dennis Bacon (Barb) of Dowagiac, MI; and a bunch of nieces, nephews, and other close relatives.
