Jimmy L. Faggins was born on March 2, 1930, to Jimmy L. Faggins, Sr., and Emma Davis, who preceded him in death. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Faggins, in the year 2004, sisters, Leola Benson and Bertha Harris, and favorite niece, Emma Harris. Jimmy Faggins went to school at Mount Calvary in Wood Bind, Mississippi. In 1945, he joined the Mount Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Boiling, Mississippi. He le Mississippi and came to Chicago and joined the Holy Temple Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Jessie Waston. In 1961, he became a crowned deacon a er Reverend Waston passed. Jimmy went and joined the Lively Stone Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Jenkins in 1975. In 2000, he joined the Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend John Onell until his death. Jimmy loved to sing. He sang with the Goodwill Jr.’s and the Lively Trutones. He was a manager of several groups, and he was loved by all. Jimmy worked for General Motors for 30 years. In 1964, he became a mason — No. 137. Jimmy L. Faggins leaves to cherish his memories: his baby, Mary (Wesley Baker, Sr.); sister, Myrthe Evans of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Sharon (Bruce Buick) and Wesley Baker, Sr., (Mary E. Baker); eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
