Johnathan Martell Stamps (affectionately known as JayReed) was born January 3, 1985, to Latonya Stamps and James Bowdry. Johnathan attended Theodore Herzl Elementary and went on to graduate from George W. Collins High School. Johnathan was deeply loved and brought immense joy to those around him. He was known for being very outspoken and playful. Johnathan enjoyed cooking, eating, and most important, spending time with his family. Johnathan was a highly decorated chef with an array of skills which allowed him to exceed in the culinary arts industry. He was an awesome provider, protector, teacher, and friend. If you called, he was coming. God sent his angels to our land. Their mission was to bring back a strong man. On August 25, 2021, the bell rang, the gate opened, and entered Johnathan. Johnathan was preceded in death by two greatgrandmothers, Pricilla Sutton and Barbra Williams; his granddad, John Stamps, Sr.; two uncles, Andre and John Stamps; and his best friend, Jarvis Williams. Johnathan leaves to cherish his memory: his loving mother, Latonya Stamps; father, James Bowdry; grandmother, Mary Pirtle; seven children, Jawaun, Janyla, Janaeh, Jamiyah, Devontae, Jaron, and Journey; one grandson, Jayvon; five sisters, Jatondrea, Mahogany, Christina, Kelly, Debbie, and Michelle; nine brothers, Jovonnie, Jamarri (Bailey), Amos, Johnnie, John, Daniel, Alexander, London, and Johnnie Jr.; two nieces, Jaharia and Jakayla; three nephews, Jaiden, Jamarri Jr., Jovonnie Jr., and Jeremiah; one greatniece, Ja’Lani; one aunt, Tammy; four uncles, Philip (Josephine), Gregory, Johnathan, and Raymond; the love of his life, Karen; his mother and father-in-love, Ann and George; four bonus brothers, Demonja “Bay-Bay”, Sherrod, Kenneth, and Freddie; two favorite cousins, Diondria and Wayne; one godsister, Theodorsha; and a multitude of great-aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family.
