Johnnette Toni Spencer was born to Jennifer Hughes and Anthony Terry in Chicago, Illinois, on August 13th, 1988. She was the fourth child and was upset when brother Prince was born a few years later because she enjoyed being the baby! She was affectionately known as “Nuke,” “Whytegirl,” and “Tightey-Whitey.” Johnnette professed a hope in Christ at a young age. She attended Eastwest University at Chicago and majored in psychology. Her love for her siblings was unconditional. She had a very special place in her heart for niece, Terryana Spencer. Johnnette departed this life on June 30th, 2022, unexpectedly. She will now join her loved ones in the heavenly nest. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jennifer Hughes-Gaskin; sisters, Deanne Spencer and Regina Terry; grandparents, Dorothy and Ernest Spencer. Johnnette leaves to cherish her loving memories: father, Anthony Terry (Dorothy); her three beautiful children, Jovani, Precious, and Mary; eight brothers, Jamar Spencer, Lamar Spencer, Prince Spencer, Johnny Hughes, Jeremiah Spencer, Antoine White, Dewan White, and Anthony White; Granny Terry; stepdad, Wayne Spencer; stepbrothers, Wayne Spencer, Jr., Stanley Pugh, and Latoris Pugh; aunts, Jacqueline Hughes, Marie Hughes, Cora Terry, and Janice Terry; uncles, Billy Hughes, Marshall Terry, Maurice Terry, Curt Terry, and James Terry; godmother, Lenette Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and close friends. She leaves to cherish her memories, from childhood to adulthood, “The 4900 Block of Iowa Crew.” Johnnette had a hug and kiss for everyone and a “winkwink” when she called you her fav!
