Johnnie Lee Dew was born in Epes, Alabama, on February 17, 1950, to Lula Bell Dew. Johnnie received Christ and was baptized at a young age at First Baptist Church of Epes, Alabama. He graduated from McCall High School in Pelahatchie, Mississippi, in 1969. Johnnie Dew was a hard worker with an impeccable work ethic, having dedicated over thirty years to one job and twenty-five years to another. He enjoyed watching sports, trivia games, and Westerns on television with his family. Johnnie was known as a sharp dresser by family and friends. He loved most genres of music with blues being his favorite, and he loved dancing with his wife and three girls. In the mid-1970s, he met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Kirkman, in Chicago, Illinois, and they were joined in holy matrimony in 1986. Johnnie was known as a family man and a doting father to all who knew him. He was a committed husband of almost fifty years to Barbara Ann Dew and a loyal father to his three daughters, Angela, Tawana, and Lakiesha. Johnnie was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him!
