Johnnie B. Roberson was born on August 16, 1956, to the late Johnnie and Georgie Roberson. He was the second of four children. Johnnie accepted Christ at an early age under the pastorate of late Reverend J.W. R. Owens of Second Baptist Church of La Grange, Illinois. Johnnie attended and graduated Lyons Township High School in La Grange, Illinois. Johnnie met and married the love of his life for 49 years, Linda Collins-Roberson, and they raised their only son, Rayshawn Roberson. Johnnie was a stylish man who loved his western wear. He called himself a black cowboy, and loved to tell the story of how the black cowboy was the original cowboy. He loved to travel to different places and met a lot of people along the way, who he has built strong friendships with. His charisma was infectious and he always made an impression on all those that he met. He will be truly missed and the world will never be the same without his light. Johnnie leaves to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife, Linda; his son, Rayshawn (Tamika); his grandchildren, Tashiana (Steven), Matthew, Morgan, and Rayshawn; and his great-granddaughter, Noah. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Georgie, and his brothers, Will (Shirley) and Ronnie. In addition, he leaves to mourn his passing his loving sister, Betty (Timothy) Shaw, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends
