Johnny B. Smith, known affectionately known as “JR,” 64, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Loyola Hospital. Johnny was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 19, 1957, to the parents Johnny B. Smith, Sr., and Josephine Jones-Smith. His parents; brother, Tracy Smith; three sisters, Patricia Ann Evans, Ruby Smith, and his twin Joann Smith preceded him in death. He has one sister who is still living, Lucil Williams. Johnny attended Richard T. Crane High School. He had numerous jobs. He then migrated to Midway Moving Company, where he worked at for 10 years before retiring in 2007 due to illness. Johnny met the love of his life, Sherise Ousley-Smith on July 15, 1999. On August 3, 2012, the two were united in holy matrimony in Chicago, Illinois. Johnny accepted Christ at a young age. Johnny loved kids, loved to dance, which kept a smile on his face, and he loved to interact with people. He had the natural ability to connect and fellowship with anybody. Johnny was an outstanding husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Deeply loved and sorrowfully mourned, Johnny leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Sherise Ousley-Smith; nine stepchildren, Lakenya Ousley, Carlos Ousley, Monisha OulseyHolmes (Tyrone), Kashona Ousley, Eric Ousley, Jeffrey Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, Shannon Johnson, and Yolanda Johnson; his mother-in-law, Loretta McClellan; two special grandkids, Maurice and Mariah Nix; special nephews whom he looked at like his sons, Fellini Evans, Herbert Evans, Christopher Evans, and Lewis Williams; special cousin, J.C Lockhart(mane); best friend, Greogory Wynter Johnny; and a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
