Joseph L. Jackson known as “Lil-Joe” was born on January 30, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois, to Annie-Mae WinfieldJackson and Joseph Miller. Lil-Joe went to Lawson Elementary School up to eighth grade. Then, he attended Huge Manley High School where he obtained his high school diploma. Lil-Joe was a hardworking man with an entrepreneurial spirit, known for his dedication and drive. He worked at Grainer as forklift driver from 2003-2007. In 2015, he started his own cab service, where he quickly became a trusted and reliable figure in his community. If you needed to get somewhere, he was the man to call—fast and efficient, his driving skills were unmatched. In fact, his speed and precision behind the wheel could have earned him a spot as a NASCAR driver! His determination and passion left a lasting legacy. Lil-Joe gained his wings on January 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM. He was preceded in death by parents, Annie-Mae WinfieldJackson, Joseph Miller; son, Emanarii N.Barber; brothers, Samuel Jackson and Tony Jackson; and nieces, Shavon "Nette" Dowell, Shannon Coleman . He leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Jarmesha Jackson; grandson, Kai Dortch; bonus kids, Darius, Makeyva, and Alexis, James; brothers, Vernon (Renee) Jackson, Andre Jackson, and John (Carlisa) Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and many friends.
