Juanita Winfield Obituary

Juanita Winfield was born April 16, 1938, to Lillian and Preston Winfield in Camden, Mississippi. Juanita confessed a belief in Christ in 1948 and joined the Fellowship of Mary Madgeline Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Walter Mayweather. She received her formal education at Scaret Heart High School in Camden, Mississippi, where she graduated in May of 1959. Juanita relocated to Chicago, Illinois, in 1961. Juanita was employed with American DeCab for many years. God sent an angel to claim his beautiful flower at 5:36 AM on February 24, 2025, at the LaGrange Hospital. Her parents; nine siblings, Leroy, Daisey, Ernest, Bernice, John, Melvin, Joe Nathan, Hubert, and Clyde, Annie Mae, preceded her in death; as did her granddaughters, Alex and Kannetric. Juanita was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had two sons, Ronnie (Dorothy) and Rodney (Francine). Juanita Winfield joined the Friendship Baptist Church in 2017 under the leadership of Dr. Reginald E. Bachus. Juanita Winfield leaves to cherish her memories: her two sons, Ronnie (Dorothy) of Plainfield, IL, and Rodney (Francine) of Bellwood, IL; grandchildren, Allister, DeAndre (Ciara), Katrina Nicole, Rodney Jarrel (Marquette), Marc-Anthony Richard, and Jackie Laquan; great-grands, Khamani, Jayden, Javari, Tavari, Kelli, and Alayah Octavia; sisters, Gladys Windham, Avone (John), Dallas, Rebecca Taylor, Verlillian, and Mattie; brothers, Frank, Alonzo, Arthur (Elaine), and Preston (Carrie); aunt, Mamie Nichols of Camden, MS; eight special friends, Carrie Hoods, Eleanor Thompson, Bettie Jean, Lillie Mae, Alonzo Candace, Margie, Murtic, and Ardelia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
