Julia Marie Baldwin With humble hearts, we the family of Julia Marie Baldwin, celebrate and honor the beautiful life she lived. Julia Marie Baldwin was born October 25, 1940, in Hollandale, Mississippi, to the loving union of Geanette and Henry Willis. She was the second of twelve children. At an early age, Julia confessed her hope in Christ, a faith that guided her throughout her life. She received her education at Anguilla Middle School in Anguilla, Mississippi, and later graduated from Henry Weathers High School in Rolling Fork, Mississippi. In 1966, Julia moved to Chicago, Illinois, with her family to begin a new chapter. Two years later, in 1968, she met George Jenkins, who would become her devoted life partner for 57 wonderful years. Together they built a life with love, family, and cherished memories. Julia’s greatest joy was her family. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. She was a strong nurturing, and supportive presence in their lives. Julia was also a faithful member of the Jordan Temple Missionary Baptist Church for many years under the leadership of Rev. Willie F. Jordan Sr., and Rev. Stephen Richardson. On August 7, 2025, Julia peacefully transitioned to her eternal home. At the gates of Heaven, she was welcomed by her parents Geanette Wright and Henry Willis; her sister Mamie Lee Coleman; Her brothers, Henry Willis Jr. and Charles Willis; and two great-granddaughters, Tunesha Willis and Alicia Willis. Julia leaves to cherish her loving memory her life partner, George Jenkins; eight children: Alice (Tyrone), Theresa, Michael (Janice), Terry (Diane), Carolyn (Lewis), Denise, Latania, and Ronald; her beloved grandchildren: Tawanda, Tasha, Felicia, Diane, Darell, Antoine, Lavall, Ericka, Bettia, Michael A., Terrance, Tafari, Takisha, Tramaine, Lil Ronald, Donesha, Londyn, and Nyla; twenty-two great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren, two brothers: Lewis Willis and Jake Wright (Debra); four sisters: Alma Garner, Maple Lee Winters (Marvin), Vearleane Wallace, and Barbara Bland (Larry); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, church members, and friends.
