Kevin James Robinson

Kevin was born on April 20, 1961, to Ellar Robinson and Wilbur James McCann, Sr. in Drew, Mississippi. He was the eldest of five children. His father; bonus dad, Thomas Hargrow; and sister, Jacqueline preceded him in death. Kevin was raised in Chicago, Illinois, with his mom and bonus dad. Kevin received his education through the Chicago public school system, attending Horatio May Elementary; he went on to Michelle Clark Middle School and completed his education at Austin Career Academy High School. Kevin accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Pastor Gilbert Treadwell. He later moved his membership to St. Rest MB Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Forrest Norvell, Sr. Kevin enjoyed sports! He also liked stepping. His employment throughout the years was with Buddy Bears, Lake Book Bindery, and Rebbie/Allied Moving Company. Kevin was a proud father and loving grandfather who cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his mother, Ellar Hargrow; only son, Kevin Deshawn Harris, Sr., (Shawny) (Valda); two daughters, Marie Steward-Burnett (Ray) and Tyechia Mance; He was a proud granddad to Kevin Deshawn, Jr., (K3), Imany, Amar, Nathaniel, Jaylon, Jeremy, LaMaiya, Taejour, Marqus, Trevor, D’Manuel, Kavon, and Ty’Jon; siblings, Melvin, Clarence (Saundra), VaShun (Shenequa), Ernest Jean, Wilbur Jr. (Cherelyn), and Sabastian (Louise); two bonus brothers, Patrick Earl Funches and Derek Woods, all of whom will hold dear the memories of Kevin’s love; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends
