LaDweena Ann McCauley was the third child born to Bufford Applegate and Patricia McCauley on March 16, 1968. Her father preceded her in death. “Dweena” received her primary and secondary education in the Chicago public school system. Dweena accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church on the west side of Chicago, under the pastorate of Reverend Johnson. She attended several churches during her walk with Christ. She later joined Zion Temple Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor C. A. Baker, where she served faithfully in the choir, on the decorating committee, and she worked as the assistant clerk for the finance department, until God called her home. Dweena was a volunteer at Claire Christian Child Care Center. She moved on to Bethany Hospital where she worked in the Material Management Department for over 10 years Dweena was one of a kind, and she had the most infectious laugh. She returned to school to pursue dental assistance until her health began to decline. She was one of the kindest people and she never met a stranger. She loved singing and dancing and was an excellent cook. Her sweet potato pies and banana pudding will surely be missed. On March 13, 2025, God’s heavenly choir gained a new angel. She leaves to forever cherish her memory: her husband, Dupree; daughter, LaTasia (Ricky); son, Marzelles (Nancy); granddaughter, Izabel; mother, Patricia; four brothers, Ronnell Sr., Maurice (Lachel), Nashawn, and Marcus; two sisters, Arletta and Keisha; four godchildren, Tierra, Raven, Tailyn, and Le’Ryan; Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and a host of cousins and friends. “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21:4-5
